blogphoto #5: njm style 2

One of my personal favourits of Mr. Niels' pictures. What I like about it is the combination of a Dutch, not very well planned, area in a small town, and the colours of the balloons meaning there is some reason to celebrate. The street, the pavement, the polyester window panes of the house; barren, grey, totally undistinguishable from other towns. Not exactly a place where you'd expect to encounter a girl carrying a bunch of surprisingly colourful balloons. The way she holds her posture, shoulders slightly lifted, not really at ease with the situation. Could it be because she feels a bit ackward with the balloons, she must be waaay too old to like balloons. Or did Niels ask her to move in a certain way, maybe walking a second time towards the house? Because of her step forward, there is movement in the picture; real nice in the static surroundings.
If I am not mistaken, the girl in te picture is Niels' daughter Mila. Hopefully I can show you some more pictures of her, she is a natural model, who doesn't usually have problems posing.
