Blogsong number 7 was never the easiest. Both textually and musically, it was experimental from the beginning. Though the text came after the chords were defined, it was a complete stream of conscience, and to many (mostly the other guys in the band Manolo) not very comprehensive. Still, after a while, it made sense to me. It deals with following a dream, a bit of Breakfast at Tiffany's, and a fuzzy holiday at sea... Musically it has got a weird chord structure. You put the E chord a octave higher (0/14/14/13/0/0), then slide it down towards D, then B and A, to E again down the neck. The chorus starts with A, but after that it uses a Asus and a chord that appears too big a puzzle for chordfind.com, again: X03230. Anyway, it goed like this:
Eyes Wide Focus
Words and music by Joris Kleverlaan
What it is known for, certainly
calls for; a dream.
What’s hiding inside, follows
behind; the light.
chorus:
Running with the tide,
Seeing through the eyes of June.
Psychedelic dreams,
While drowning at sea, at noon.
Eyes wide focus,
Eyes wide focus on you.
Where Holly’s gone, footsteps go
lightly; a song.
We’re heading for, mostly alone;
the light.
